Canon

Books, thinkers, and ideas that have shaped how I think.

The major thinkers are Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Girard. Although Plato, Aristotle, Rousseau, Hobbes, Locke, Descartes, Heraclitus, the Bible, Augustine, and others do play a role.

I largely align with the Kantian-Hegelian critiques of naturalism and empiricism (currently reading Hart's All Things Are Full of Gods which is another in this canon, so is Habermas). However, nothing has ever felt satisfactory about philosophy, and critiques such as Bulgakovs, the Bible, Girard, Christian mystics, and others have been weighing on my mind.

Most of the folks I have read are in my book archive. Missing are some of the years from 2020 to 2022, however, this was largely filled with standard Western philosophy canon, Kant and Hegel primary and secondary texts, and German idealism broadly. A good chunk of them are in my library.
