It is good practice to try and find why you are attracted to something, in the same vein as Proust or Freud. For example, it might be a type of bar, do they leave you alone or is the bartender there for you to talk to. For philosophy, it is not too different. The Kantian-Hegelian apperceptive philosophy, the unity of difference, identity of identity and difference, etc, appeals to a part of me most likely. This is a type of Platonic philosophy that centers harmony. Nietzsche, on the other hand, who is a philosopher of tension, is someone who I cannot find myself feeling drawn to in the same way, maybe because it hits closer to reality than fantasy.
